The visual system of children is very different than it is for adults. Our doctors will specially cater the visual and ocular exam for patients of young ages. Testing can include visual acuity, stereo vision, depth perception, eye coordination, eye focusing and eye health assessment.
Many vision problems can be corrected with early diagnosis. It is important to identify any difficulties before they interfere with eye development or school performance.
Recommended frequency of eye exams:
first exam: 6 months to 4 years of age.
subsequent exams: every 1 to 2 years for ages 5 through 18
